Lycopene, a carotenoid pigment found in tomatoes and other red fruits and vegetables, is thought to have potent antioxidant properties. The European Commission is backing a five-year research project called Lycocard, a research consortium studying the role of lycopene in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, cancer and osteoporosis, diseases that may result in part from oxidative stress.Mmmm- mmmmm good and good for you.
