Edis Chocolates Opens Retail Store

I was so happy to see Edis Rezende, owner of Edis Chocolates, at Barton Springs Farmer's Market  yesterday. In past years, because hand-crafted chocolate can't withstand Texas summers, she has disappeared from the market from June to October.

What? Five months without chocolate? Seriously?

Look. I know that many specialty markets offer chocolate truffles year round. I've succumbed to the temptation to cheat on Edis. But you only have to taste the hand-crafted Belgian chocolate ganache-filled goodies that Edis makes once to get the difference.

Cheat if you must, but nothing else quite measures up.

Happily, these chocolate morsels are available year round at her new retail store located at 3808 Spicewood Springs Road, former home of the recently deceased, Triumph Cafe.

In addition to the chocolate truffles which are her mainstay, she's offering equally soul-satisfying cakes, cupcakes, cookies, chocolate mousse and other delectable chocolate treats for holiday tables, hostess gifts or any occasion.

But really. Who needs an occasion to eat chocolate?
